Possibly the only bike shop in Bangkok running on the support and donations of local bicycle lovers, the Don Kuson Community Bike Shop started as the answer to a need noticed by Alexander Martin. As an avid bicyclist in the US, he was involved in bike co-op organizations for years until he moved to Bangkok and saw that there wasn’t anything similar. Located deep in Charoen Krung Soi 57, Don … [Read more...] about Don Kuson Community Bike Shop in Bangkok
Thailand Bicycle Shop Reviews
Our featured bike shops review articles give our readers the chance to learn a little more about some of the more unique, celebrated, or renowned bicycle shops in Thailand.
Contact us and let us know about your favorite bike shop in Thailand so that we can share their information with other cyclists in need of a good shop. Or, ask us a question about a bicycle shop in Thailand. We've traveled much of the country and many of our contributing writers are living in Thailand now, cycling every day, so they might know something about a shop in a particular town.
Some cities in Thailand have many bike shops to choose from while other towns may have very few. We have learned that the size of the shop never guarantees that it is the best in town so remain willing to stop in to more than one shop in order to find what you are looking for or to receive the type of servicing your bike needs. Cities and provinces of Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hua Hin, Phuket, Chonburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nonthaburi, Korat, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Samut Prakan, Songkhla, Hat Yai, Surat Thani have the largest number of bike shops.

KH Cycle Thailand in Bangkok
A friend of mine who owns a SCOTT Scale 900 mountain bike, which he bought in the U.K. and has recently brought to Thailand, was looking to find a SCOTT dealer in Bangkok. I told him that I could do him one better by delivering him and his bike to the flagship store of Thailand's SCOTT distributor. Beyond having a full range of SCOTT bikes, the KH Cycle Thailand store also serves as the … [Read more...] about KH Cycle Thailand in Bangkok

The Moon Rider Cafe (a.k.a. BKOOL Thailand)
Last month, a good friend told me about a new bicycle cafe that she had seen while driving over the Hua Chang bridge in Bangkok's Ratchathewi district. Knowing that the shop was only a stone's throw away from the Ratchathewi BTS station, I quickly added it to my 'worth checking out' list of cafes to be visited during my next Big Mango foray. When I did finally get to Bangkok at the end of … [Read more...] about The Moon Rider Cafe (a.k.a. BKOOL Thailand)

My favorite bicycle shop in Thailand: Sixty Fixy Bike Shop
My favourite bike shop is Sixty Fixy Bike Shop, which is located in Sukhumvit Soi 31. It is actually easily accessible via BTS and continues with 2 miles of walking. The nearest station to Soi 31 is the Phrom Pong BTS station. One can actually hire a motorcyclist to go to the shop directly from the main road. I was looking for a foldable helmet called Carrera, which has the shape of an … [Read more...] about My favorite bicycle shop in Thailand: Sixty Fixy Bike Shop
My favorite bicycle shop in Thailand: Pro Bike
My favorite bicycle shop is and has always been the Pro Bike shop on Sarasin road opposite Lumpini park in downtown Bangkok. Several years ago I ventured around Bangkok and the outer city limits from shop to shop looking at bikes that were within the needs I requested. Only one of the shops actually consulted with me for what I desired and assisted me in how best to spend my money, Pro Bike. Most … [Read more...] about My favorite bicycle shop in Thailand: Pro Bike
Culture Cycliste in Nakhon Pathom
In May 2013, my colleague visited the first ever Culture Cycliste shop, located adjacent to Lumphini Park in the Pathum Wan district of Bangkok. Now, a year later, I had the chance to visit the newly opened second branch of Culture Cycliste, located in Phutthamonthon district, in Nakhon Pathom province. This second branch carries the same brands of bicycles, accessories, and apparel as the Bangkok … [Read more...] about Culture Cycliste in Nakhon Pathom
Nikorn Bike in Mukdahan
I usually have the opportunity to cycle in northeastern Thailand about once every year and I'm always happy to discover new places and people during my trips. After all, aren't new discoveries a big part of why we ride bikes? Sometimes on my travels I'm pleasantly surprised to learn more about, or discover for the first time, a place or a person I've only had chance to cycle by in earlier years. … [Read more...] about Nikorn Bike in Mukdahan
Cyclist Point in Chiang Rai
Last month, I wrote an article after interviewing former French National Mountain Bike Champion Peter Pouly. The article focused on Peter's professional cycling career, 2005 retirement, and his subsequent move to Thailand where he recently opened a training camp in the north of the country. During that interview I learned that Peter had also taken the initiative to open a shop in Chiang Rai, his … [Read more...] about Cyclist Point in Chiang Rai
Mojo Bikes in Chiang Mai [CLOSED]
[CLOSED] Last week I spent some time in Chiang Mai, where I had the opportunity to visit a few bike stores and ride some trails. One place I visited was Mojo Bikes, which recently opened its physical store following the growth of its online business over the past year and a half. Former French National Mountain Bike Champion Opens Training Camp in Thailand
The excellent training grounds, for both mountain biking and road cycling, in Northern Thailand are becoming increasingly well known to holidaymaking cyclists. Much of the praise that the area receives is focused on the quality of roads, great climbing opportunities, and the agreeable wintertime weather conditions. Is it any wonder that Northern Thailand has attracted accomplished riders, both … [Read more...] about Former French National Mountain Bike Champion Opens Training Camp in Thailand
Cromo Zone in Bangkok
The other week, I ended up spending more time in Thailand's capital than my soul can handle. Not to say that Bangkok is a bad city, it can actually be quite fun sometimes, but I have noticed that staying in the city any longer than two or three days starts to weigh heavily on my senses and I start pining for wide open spaces and fresh air. To alleviate some of the sensory overload of Bangkok I … [Read more...] about Cromo Zone in Bangkok
Culture Cycliste in Bangkok
This month’s featured Bike Store in Thailand is Culture Cycliste. Culture Cycliste is easy to find since it is located next to a well-known Bangkok landmark, Lumpini Park in Pathum Wan district. The shop occupies the ground floor of a business complex called Indo Suez House, which is visible from Sarasin Road just before it junctions with Witthaya Road. A metal works sign on the front lawn area of … [Read more...] about Culture Cycliste in Bangkok
InterBike Studio Thank You Party
A few friends and I had the pleasure of attending the Saturday evening 'Thank You' party event (March 16th) put on at the showroom location of InterBike Studio. The venue is a full service bicycle shop with an art gallery feel; spacious, sparse and spectacular. Bicycles, like works of art, hang from the walls and sit atop pedestal tables. But, this is one art gallery where visitors are encouraged … [Read more...] about InterBike Studio Thank You Party

Sweet Pista in Bangkok
Here at BicycleThailand.com we love to visit bicycle shops, and to inform our readers about the flourishing bike culture in Thailand. On a recent visit to Bangkok, I intended to pay a visit to Sixty Fixy, a bicycle shop previously featured in an article about the fixed-gear scene in Bangkok, when I noticed two new 'bike culture' shops directly adjacent to their Sukhumvit 31 location. This row of … [Read more...] about Sweet Pista in Bangkok
Pisan Bike in Kalasin
Kalasin has a very large and well stocked bicycle shop. On the outside it looks like a normal LA Bicycle shop, but upstairs in the 'Pro section' they have the most complete amount of high quality accessories and equipment that I've only dreamt about in Thailand. I find that a fair amount of the bicycle shops in Thailand have a limited range of equipment and accessories. Shop owners seem to … [Read more...] about Pisan Bike in Kalasin

Traveling by bicycle through the Deep South of Thailand is a wonderfully rewarding experience. The sights, the smells, and the tastes of Thailand's southern provinces are rich and memorable. Amongst Thais, questions concerning the South tend to elicit answers about its beautiful landscape, SPICY food, and the fast, friendly dialect of Southerners. Four of Thailand's southern provinces border … [Read more...] about All Wheels Ride in Songkhla

SeaLee Urban and SeaLee Bike Shop in Bangkok
When was the last time you visited a bike shop and were treated to peach yoghurt and a friendly smile? The very thing happened to me when I paid a visit to SeaLee Bike Shop on Chok Chai 4 road in Lat Phrao, Bangkok. Already being familiar with the SeaLee Urban bike shop on New Phetchaburi road in Bangkok I was delighted to learn that the active team of Khun Lee and Khun Sea (hence the name SeaLee) … [Read more...] about SeaLee Urban and SeaLee Bike Shop in Bangkok
