This month’s featured bike store in Thailand is Hua Hin Bike. Hua Hin Bike is located in the city of Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province. You can find Hua Hin Bike on Phetkasem Road (Hwy 4) between Soi 45 and Soi 45/1, just before a PTT gas station.
The shop has been in its current location for many years and is well known for its support of the local bike clubs and cycling events throughout the Prachuap Khiri Khan province. Trek and its affiliated brands make up the main product line of this store. Specialized and Merida brands are also on display. The storefront faces the main road (Phetkasem/Hwy 4) that goes directly through the center of Hua Hin on its way South towards the great riding areas of Khao Sam Roi Yot and Pranburi.
The service staff at Hua Hin Bike speaks Thai and limited English. Basic bicycle repairs are done while you wait. More in-depth problems are normally handled in a day’s time. A wide selection of parts and accessories are available and competitively priced with the mega-store prices seen in Bangkok bike shops. If the shop doesn’t have something in stock a quick phone call to its supplier in Bangkok will get the item delivered within a day or two. Hua Hin Bike has a nice selection of cycling clothing and shoes; items that are usually in short supply in bike stores outside of Bangkok. Whether you live in or are just visiting Thailand, when your next cycling adventure takes you to the Cha-am/Hua Hin/Prachuap area, stop in at Hua Hin Bike and see what they have to offer. Don’t forget to ask about the annual King’s Cup mountain and road bike races that take place in Hua Hin usually during the month of November. Happy riding!
