Bicycle Parks in Bangkok City
Benjakiti Park is open for cycling from 6 to 9 am, and 4 to 7 pm. The bike track loop is about 2 kilometers, clockwise riding only, but is not very wide, so one has to keep a watch for slower riders, especially novices who tend to panic and wobble dangerously when they become aware of another rider coming up behind them. Benjakiti the only park in the city that has a dedicated path for cyclists, … [Read more...] about Bicycle Parks in Bangkok City

Cromo Zone in Bangkok
The other week, I ended up spending more time in Thailand's capital than my soul can handle. Not to say that Bangkok is a bad city, it can actually be quite fun sometimes, but I have noticed that staying in the city any longer than two or three days starts to weigh heavily on my senses and I start pining for wide open spaces and fresh air. To alleviate some of the sensory overload of Bangkok I … [Read more...] about Cromo Zone in Bangkok
Bike Tour Bangkok The Touch of Thai Smile Review
Whilst I was a little sceptical due to Bangkok’s heat and traffic, going on a bike tour proved a great way to experience some of the city’s sights, sounds and tourist attractions. In fact, I learnt that these challenges should actually be reasons for choosing pedal power as opposed to going at it on foot or by vehicle, as you can feel the breeze as you ride and avoid frustrating traffic … [Read more...] about Bike Tour Bangkok The Touch of Thai Smile Review

A metal works sign on the front lawn area of … [Read more...] about Culture Cycliste in Bangkok
Wrapping up Four Days at the Bangkok Bike Expo 2013
I just spent the last four days at the Bangkok Bike Expo 2013 and wanted to share a couple of venue highlights and a few of the products that really stood out to me while I was there. The venue included two distinct features that I thought were great. First off, the hall had a large parking area where expo attendees could have their bicycles parked in a secure place while they enjoyed the show. … [Read more...] about Wrapping up Four Days at the Bangkok Bike Expo 2013
Bicycle Rental Service to Launch in Bangkok on 1 May 2013
It has been a long time coming but the BMA have finally announced that the “Pun Pun” Bike Rental scheme will launch on 1st May at 12 stations around Central Bangkok. This is a far cry from their original promise of 50 stations and 500 bicycles around Bangkok by February 2013. But it is a good start. Hopefully if it is well used then they will be encouraged to add more stations in the future. The … [Read more...] about Bicycle Rental Service to Launch in Bangkok on 1 May 2013
Cycle Ride on Rattanakosin Island
At the weekend I was exploring the old city in Bangkok around the Grand Palace. Here are some of the pictures that I tweeted as I cycled around. 1. The Standing Buddha at Wat Intharavihan is 32 meters high & 11 metres wide. It’s best to take a picture of the Standing Buddha at Wat Intharavihan in the morning when the sun is behind you. 2. I see Starbung Coffee is still on Phra Athit … [Read more...] about Cycle Ride on Rattanakosin Island

The venue is a full service bicycle shop with an art gallery feel; spacious, sparse and spectacular. Bicycles, like works of art, hang from the walls and sit atop pedestal tables. Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand, has begun a new bicycle share program which loosely mirrors similar programs featured in prominent cities throughout the world.
