Back in August of 2014 we reported that a new bike park had been opened by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). The bike park, which is located in the Khlong Sam Wa district of Bangkok, features a 4-kilometer cycle lane around the beautiful lake setting of Wareepirom Park. This area is often referred to as Bueng Makham-Bueng Sakae Ngam Sam Duean, or just Bueng Sakae Ngam.
In that same article we mentioned that the park administrators had future plans to create a mountain bike trail and a BMX track.
And now, we’re happy to report that the BMX track is set to be open to the public very soon.
A wonderful test-run video posted by a FaceBook user named Nontakorn Inkhoksoong shows the nearly completed BMX track.

It’s nice to see a promised bike park project coming to completion in this area. Other Bangkok bike parks and cycling venues that have sprung up over the past two years are perhaps in response to the demand of Bangkok-based cyclists looking for more riding opportunities closer to the city.
Bangkok bike parks worth mentioning are the Peppermint Bike Park, Airport Sky Lane, the Bike Trail Around Nong Bon Lake (now hosting Dash events and Triathlon training), and of course Benjakiti, Suan Rot Fai, and Lumphini parks. For mountain bike riders who want to hit the dirt in Bangkok, we’d recommend visiting the Club 11 bike park.
