Our latest Top Pick Event in Thailand was a real tough choice because there are simply just SO MANY cycling events happening throughout Thailand this Fall. So rather than highlight ONE event we decided to pick a location – one city – where several different cycling events are being held. With a late night alleycat scramble, King’s Cup MTB Cross-country Classic race, Thailand Gravity Series Downhill event, and the Queen’s Cup road bike race all happening in one city, Hua Hin is certainly the place to be on any weekend this November. NOVEMBER 8 – Saturday: Prachuap Khiri Khan
3rd Hua Hin Alleycat. Sponsored by Pro-Lite Thailand.
Start Location: Phon King Phet Park, Amphoe Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province. GPS – N 12.568057, E 99.956783. Checkpoint to checkpoint courier/messenger style night race for all the mashers, trickers, and hipsters. Additional race details will be released in the Hua Hin Alleycat FaceBook group. Categories: All bike types, people types, and blood types are welcome. Time: 9:00pm (2100). Entry fee: FREE! Spoke cards to all participants. Prizes to winners and random awards to bike freaks and geeks. Final checkpoint details and ‘surprises’ will be announced on night of the race. NOVEMBER 22 – Saturday: Prachuap Khiri Khan
Queen’s Cup Tour of Hua Hin 2014. Road bike competition. Location: Clock Tower in Hua Hin city center, Phetkasem Road, Amphoe Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province. GPS – N 12.57037, E 99.95731.
Registration: 0630-0800 at school adjacent to Hua Hin Clock Tower. Registration form. 0830 rider sign-in and opening ceremony and start of race. 1230 approximate finish time. 1430 awards ceremony. 1530 official closing time of race. Categories – 11 categories to choose from: 144 km Male Road Bike, 104 km Touring Men age 30-39 Road Bike, 89 km Touring Men age 40-49 Road Bike, 89 km Touring Male 50 years and up Road Bike, 89 km Women Road Bike, 104 km Young Male Road Bike, 104 km Male Mountain Bike, 89 km Male 40 years and up Mountain Bike, 89 km Fixed Gear Bike, Road/MTB riders who wish to ride 75 kilometers, and Road/MTB riders who are VIP and wish to ride 25 kilometers. Entry fee: 600 THB (All categories) and 2,000 THB (VIP category).
NOVEMBER 23 – Sunday: Prachuap Khiri Khan
King’s Cup Hua Hin Mountain Bike Classic 2014. Mountain bike competition. Location: Hua Hin Shooting Club, Bo Fai, Amphoe Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province. GPS – N 12.63435, E 99.92988. Registration: 0800-1030 at the registration tent at event location. Registration form. 1100 opening ceremony. 1130 release time for Category C, 1145 release time for Category A, 1200 release time for Category B. 1500 awards ceremony. 1530 official closing time of event. Categories: A-42km (Male by age and Women Open), B-28km (Male by age and Women Open), and C-10km (Male 10yrs and under, Male 11-15yrs, Female 15yrs and under). Entry fee: 500 THB (A), 450 THB (B), 400 THB (C). MTB tire sizes of 26:, 27.5”, ad 29” will be allowed.
NOVEMBER 29 – 30 Saturday & Sunday: Prachuap Khiri Khan
DH Thailand Gravity Series meeting #3 in Hua Hin. Mojo’s Santacruz Bike Parks by Ride Cycle. New Downhill and Enduro style series in Thailand that will have accumulative points for riders participating in all meetings in the year. Tracks are located in Khao Yai Thiang (near Lam Thakong in Sikhio district) and Khao hen Lek Fai (Hua Hin). Location of meeting #3: Khao hen Lek Fai (Hua Hin), Prachuap Khiri Khan province. GPS – N 12.558259, E 99.935670. Register and qualifying run on Saturday November 29. Final run and awards ceremony on November 30. Fee: 300-500 THB. A few more details.
