Thailand’s Public Broadcasting Station (PBS) is claiming nothing less than the “making of live sport television history in Thailand” by releasing two full hours of the ‘Asian Cycling Night Championships’, which are taking place this month in Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat).
Viewers can tune in on February 10th and 11th from 10pm until midnight to witness the competition between a claimed field of 400+ racers from 41 different countries.
Prominent racers from Thailand’s National Road and Track Cycling teams feature in the promotional videos being released by Thai PBS.
The night championships concept was put forward by organizers as a way of reducing heat stroke related injuries to competitors.
The TRACK portion of the Asian Championships will run from February 4th through the 8th at the Nakhon Ratchasima velodrome.
The ROAD portion of the Asian Championships will run from February 10th through the 12th. The ROAD cycling portion of the championships utilizes a 9 kilometer loop of streets close to the city’s center.
