Hi All.. am a long-time cyclist who comes to Thailand from time to time to ride up north out of Chiang Mai and I often connect through BKK with my bike heading to other places around the world to ride. Am excited to learn that the cycle path at Suvarnabhumi Airport has been renovated and will be opening soon. I have a couple of questions that I can't answer looking at the Thai sites/pages. Hope you all can help. I'm planning to come through Bangkok with my Pinarello for a few days later this month (25-26 November 2015) and am hoping to write an article on the new Sky Lane experience. (And thanks to Tim Shady for the October 15 posting... very useful)
1) When is the (redone) Sky Lane going to be opened?
2) Where will be the access/entry points and are there any recommended hotels within cycling distance? (I was thinking of staying at the Le Meridien at 789 Moo 14, Bangna-Trad Road, Km 10.5,Bangpleeyai, which is located near one of the old access points.)
3) Are the Snap bracelets actually available now and can they be purchased at the Sky Lane?
4) Looks like there will be lighting (great!) for night riding. What will be the opening hours?
5) Are they allowing bikes on the Airport Rail link and, if so, would it be practical for using to stay downtown and use to get out to the Sky Lane and back?
Thanks to all.. DM me at kimo@iisd.org if you are not into posting to the forum.
