This month’s featured Bike Store in Thailand is Bike Zone. Bike Zone is located in downtown Bangkok. You can find Bike Zone at Amarin Plaza just outside exit 6 of the Chitlom BTS station. The shop is on the 2nd floor of Amarin Plaza in an area of the shopping mall known as Outdoor Unlimited.

While the shop is fairly new in Bangkok it benefits from a strong product line and a great location. Bike Zone is situated in the downtown shopping district (Ratchaprasong), making it accessible by several of Bangkok’s main thoroughfares as well as its mass transit system. Bike Zone is the only bike shop in Bangkok that is directly connected to a BTS walkway. Cyclists who use the BTS sky train should exit at the Chitlom station on the Sukhumvit Line and proceed to Amarin Plaza through exit 6. If you are unfamiliar with how to bring your bicycle on the BTS sky train you may refer to BicycleThailand’s own article about the subject here.

The management and staff at Bike Zone are pleasant and easy to deal with. Spanish and English is spoken by management while the service staff speaks Thai and English, helping to alleviate problems when it comes to having your bicycle repaired. Marin is the main brand of bicycles on the shop floor while a wide array of parts and accessories, from top manufacturers, adorn the walls. The shop’s management prides itself on its ability to procure products from many sources, which in turn allows the shop to meet the discerning needs of its customers. If you’re in the market for a new bicycle or you just need the services of a local bike shop, stop by Bike Zone to peruse their stock, chat with the staff, or find inspiration in one of the many cycling magazines on display for visitors. Get out and ride!
