Does anyone have an update on this project... bicycle lane from Thamasat all the way to Chainat?

Is it still being done...?

JACKIEVS,

This project is still being done.

excerpt from the article... "The department of rural roads is almost ready to start building next year (2017). The design plan for this project began at the end of 2015 and is scheduled to finish at the end of this year (2016). The department of rural roads will then prepare the budget to build the bicycle lane in 2017."

A nice response (reposted below) to the article from another reader detailed how he cycled much of the distance where the cycling lane will be built, sticking to smaller roads along the Chao Praya, Ping, and Nan rivers.

For the part from Ayutthaya to Chai Nat it's possible to follow the Chao Praya on much quieter roads without to much problem. They could probably build this lane parallel to those roads.

How do I know this:I rode twice from Bangkok to Nakhon Sawan via Ayuttaya,Ang thong,Sinburi and Chai Nat:

From Nakhon Sawan you can follow either the Ping River, all the way to the Bhumibol Dam,or the Nan River all the way to Nan.
