A list of 7 things to look for and take care of in order to get your bike ready for the Spring riding season.

1. Know your enemy - Rainy season in Thailand

2. Bike wash - DO IT !!

3. Check the tires and brake pads - Are they up to the task? Or in need of replacement?

4. Inspect and lube the chain - Happy drivetrain = Happy rider

5. Install NEW cables - The most inexpensive way to keep your expensive bike components from becoming worn out early

6. Equipment check - Be ready, be prepared. The weather when you leave your house will not be the same weather when you return from your ride.

7. Add some bling - Bikes with NEW bling demand to be ridden. They beckon. They plead. And, maybe they turn some heads out on the trail or road.

One question that always comes up about bike washing - using a pressure washer. Don't do it.

Yes, I know the pro mechanics do it, but they replace bearings A LOT and they get those bearings for FREE.

So, unless you get FREE bearings from your sponsors and you replace them after every race/ride then DO NOT use a pressure washer to clean your bike.

Public service announcement over  :)
