Hi there. Looking for people with some knoledge of MTB trails around Chiang Mai. I've done the Doi Pui summit to Huay Tung Tao lake a few times, looking for somewhere else to go.

where did you get those maps from?

have you checked... http://thailandtrails.org/

Normal is different everywhere. There is no normal. Everything is normal.

Riders Corner Bar on CM  on the moat has a vinyl and GPS map for sale  it covers most of the trials of Norther Thailand   aimed mainly at the dirt bike crowd but should be worth a look !

There are plenty of excellent downhill and XC trails in the Doi Pui Doi Suthep National park, west of the city. The Asia riders map is certainly helpful, but a GPS is probably even better, because of higher resolution and tracking capability. Check out openstreetmap.org and go to Chiang Mai, I have entered all the Doi Pui trails I know of, both for hiking and MTB riding. There is a free Android App for Open Street Maps called OSMAND that allows you to carry these maps in your pocket. Cheers, CM-Expat

Don't forget to check out groups like these:

Broke Back Mountain Bikers

Chiang Mai Mountain Biking

Chiang Mai Downhill Group

All of these groups maintain good (and up to date) trail info and have scheduled weekly and monthly rides.

No better way to find the local trails than to ride with the guys and gals who live and ride in Chiang Mai

ALL of these groups are listed on the CLUBS & LINKS page here - http://bicyclethaila...om/clubs-links/
